Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Asian Ecotourism Network (AEN) and the Training Programme on ‘Standards and Certification’ conducted by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (UNWTO-GSTC) was held in Bangkok, Thailand from
4th to 6th June, 2016 at the Auditorium of Thai Public Office of Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA). Regional Ecotourism leaders representing 14 countries from Asia-Pacific Region took part at the event.

AEN aims to provide more hands-on connections and relevant opportunities for ecotourism stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific Region to realize more sustainable and united societies at regional level while bringing more networking and business opportunities, significant information, educational materials in Ecotourism to both small and medium ecotourism organizations within Asia and Pacific regions.
Palitha Gurusinghe, President, Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation (SLEF), Founding Vice-Chair of Asian Ecotourism Network (AEN) and one of the founding Board Members of the Global Ecotourism Network (GEN), USA, represented Sri Lanka at the event.
